Privacy Policy

This policy covers the internal bookkeeping application operated by VueTax, which connects to QuickBooks Online on behalf of VueTax's accounting clients, and the phone and text-messaging service VueTax uses to communicate with those clients.
1. What data is accessed
With each client's authorization, the application accesses that client's QuickBooks Online accounting records (such as transactions, accounts, vendors, and financial reports) solely to perform the bookkeeping and advisory services the client has engaged VueTax to provide.VueTax also collects basic contact information (such as name, phone number, and email address) in order to communicate with clients about their engagement by phone, text message, and email.
2. How data is used
Client accounting data is used only to deliver professional services to that client. Contact information is used only to communicate with the client about their engagement. This information is never sold, rented, or used for advertising. Data may be processed by service providers VueTax uses to deliver its services (such as secure cloud, AI-assisted software, and phone and messaging tools) under terms that prohibit those providers from using it for their own purposes.
3. Storage and security
Access credentials are stored in encrypted operating-system credential storage on VueTax's equipment. Client data is retained only as needed to provide services and to meet professional record-keeping obligations.
4. Phone and text messaging
VueTax's phone service may transcribe voicemail messages, and phone calls may be recorded where the client has been notified at the start of the call. Any recordings or transcripts are kept as part of the client's engagement record and are handled the same way as other client data under this policy.A client who provides a mobile number may receive text messages from VueTax about their bookkeeping engagement, such as questions, reminders, and document requests. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.
A client can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for assistance. Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging consent are never sold or shared with third parties, and are not shared with any party for their own marketing purposes.
5. Website visitors
VueTax's website collects some information from visitors, both automatically and when a visitor chooses to make contact. If a visitor submits a contact form or books a call (for example, through a booking tool such as Calendly), VueTax collects the details provided, such as name, email address, phone number, and any message, in order to respond and follow up.
Like most websites, the site runs on a third-party hosting provider and uses cookies (small files saved by the browser) to keep the site working and to measure how it is used. VueTax uses website analytics, such as Google Analytics, to understand general traffic and page views. VueTax may also use advertising cookies to measure or deliver ads. These tools collect information such as IP address, browser type, and the pages viewed.
A visitor can block or delete cookies through their browser settings and can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on. Information collected through the website is used only to operate and improve the site and to respond to inquiries. It is never sold.
6. Sharing
Client data is not shared with third parties except as described above, as directed by the client, or as required by law or professional standards.
7. Your choices
A client may disconnect the application from its QuickBooks Online company at any time from QuickBooks' own settings, or by contacting VueTax. A client may stop receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP.
8. Changes to this policy
VueTax may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed, and the current version is always the one posted on VueTax's website.
